Some information in english

The Bonner Kammerchor falls into the category of a mixed amateur choir of approximately 40 members who meet once a week for practising. Occasional weekend rehearsals are added prior to performances. The fact that the choir is made up of working people and students as well has proved to be successfull since it enables a balance to be achieved between continuous membership and repertoiry singing on the one hand, and renewal of the choir´s sound from time to time on the other. As regards artistic goals, the Bonner Kammerchor is oriented towards professional standards. Voice training and exercises to maintain a homogeneous choral sound are integral parts of rehearsing. The choir´s repertory ranges from gregorian chant to first time performances of contemporary music, and its name has meanwhile become closely associated with authentic and lively interpretation of works frm all periods. The concerts are well-known for their programmatic character, featuring subjects like »Choral music between meditation and ecstasy« or »Settings of the Song of Songs«, to name only two examples. Its regular appearance in and around Bonn, tours of Germany and other European countries, recordings with German radio stations like WDR and SFB, and several invitations to attend festivals have made the Bonner Kammerchor a figurehead of culture both for Bonn and Germany. The choir's successfull participation in a number of national and international choral competitions have won an outstanding recognition at international level. The Bonner Kammerchor is member to the Association of German Concert Choirs (VDKC).
